Details:

Dining:

Meals are enjoyed either alfresco or inside a dining tent which also doubles as a ‘salon’ for convivial social gatherings to perhaps enjoy a bottle or two of the local ‘Sahara Reserve’ wine, perhaps a fine champagne or pot of mint tea. All meals are freshly prepared in a traditional Moroccan style with a choice of meat and vegetarian tagines and couscous for dinner, salads or picnics for lunch (depending on the activity of the day) and Moroccan pancakes, freshly baked bread, local jam and honey for breakfast.

Activities:

Bounded by the Moroccan Sahara Desert, the Sahara Desert Camp is set in a wilderness location with incredibly varied landscapes. Excursions can be taken to nearby oases and towering dunes in your 4×4 vehicle. Alternatively relax in camp, explore on foot or enjoy a camel ride. Star-gaze at night and enjoy the setting and rising sun. For wildlife enthusiasts, desert fox, gerbil and a variety of bird species are regularly seen.

Season:

The camp is open from early-September to early-June and closes during summer months to avoid the sweltering heat of the Sahara. Do bear in mind that winter nights can be cold (the cosy duvets will keep you warm), and that Christmas / New Year is extremely popular. A stay during full moon is particularly memorable as moonlight illuminates the dunes, palms and mountains which surround camp.

Suitainability:

The camp should appeal to travellers who have an appreciation of nature and who seek accessible wilderness. We offer a high degree of exclusivity and service well away from the large commercialised camps in Merzouga and M’hamid. Big enough to accommodate a group of 12-16 guests travelling in two or three 4×4 vehicles, tents are available on a nightly basis to individuals, couples, families or groups of friends.

Moroccan Sahara Tours:

Departing on a daily basis, we offer a range of meticulously planned, private guided 4×4 tour itineraries, from 2 nights to 2 weeks which include Morocco’s Sahara Desert and Sahara Desert Camp. We can also custom-build an itinerary to your exact requirements,
